The character link between Scar (from the Loin King) and Macbeth.
SCAR
As Mufasa's brother, Scar was next in line to take the throne until Simba came along. Scar was very jealous of Mufasa and Simba and he wanted to be King. With his ambition to be King he killed his own brother (Mufasa) and made it look like an accident. This made Scar King. He was a selfish and greedy leader, nearly destroying the pride and the land in which they lived. Scar's attitude would be described as ambitious and sneaky. He Betrays his family and also the others in the Jungle. In the end Simba ends up defeating Scar and he dies.

Macbeth
Macbeth is told by the witches that he will one day be King. Macbeth being the ambitious person that he is organises with his wife (Lady Macbeth) that they will kill the current King (Duncan). Macbeth does this with a dagger, he does it late at night when the whole castle is sleeping. He then blames it on the guards and covers them in blood. Lady Macbeth also had a huge role in this but it was Macbeth that had the conniving mind. Macduff another soldier catches on to what Macbeth is doing and ends up killing Macbeth.

The join between the two...
Macbeth and Scar are very much alike in their character and also how their story line goes. They both start off as good guys and are friends with the Kings. Then they find the ambition in themselves to become King. They both want to be King and think that death is the way to solve it. They both kill the Kings and blame it on someone else. They do this so they don't feel the guilt. Both Scar and Macbeth do become Kings however they both die in the end. Scar is killed by Simba and Macbeth is killed by Macduff. The difference with the characters is that Macbeth gets a bit carried away with the dark side and kills more people then he planned. He kills his best friend and the wife of Macduff and his child. This would be because The Lion King is a children's movie and Macbeth is a horror film. However both characters both have the same ambition to be King. They both do whatever it takes and they are both lead to the dark side.
